Founder: Ferhan Altug
My name is Ferhan Altug. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and ethnically, I’m Turkish. From a young age, I was constantly on the move, playing soccer since I was four, picking up basketball in middle school, and running track along the way. I also explored a variety of other activities, from tennis to chess, always eager to try something new. Sports taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, values that I carry into every aspect of my life.

I am a 23 year-old entrepreneur and a Spring 2025 graduate from San Diego State University with a Marketing degree, driven by my passions for sports, photography, fashion, travel, and food. People often describe me as enthusiastic, energetic, creative, passionate, and adventurous—qualities that fuel my love for exploring the world and embracing new experiences.

My journey into fashion began with a vision to create the best-fitting clothes with perfect measurements. I believe that style and comfort should go hand in hand, and my goal is to design clothing that makes people feel confident and comfortable, no matter where life takes them.

This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see where this journey leads.

From Behind the Lens to Building a Brand
A Passion for Photography
Photography is a big part of who I am. Ever since I was little, I’ve had a drive to explore the world, immerse myself in new cultures, and embrace the unknown. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but my roots are Turkish. Growing up, I traveled frequently with my family, which fueled my love for adventure. However, as school took priority, those travels slowed down.

I’ve always wanted to capture memories and preserve moments through the lens of a camera. My journey into photography began when my dad gifted me my first camera in high school: a Nikon D5600 DSLR. While I initially relied on automatic settings, over the years, I’ve embraced the art of manual photography, learning how to craft images that reflect my unique style and perspective. Looking back at my early work, I can see how far I’ve come, evolving from an enthusiastic amateur into a photographer with purpose.
Launching My Brand
After graduating from high school during the pandemic, I made a pivotal decision to take a gap year rather than attending college online. That summer, while in Türkiye, a mutual friend asked me to do a photoshoot for his clothing brand. Although it was my first time doing a photoshoot, I embraced the challenge and discovered a newfound passion. Inspired by this experience, I decided to launch my own clothing brand.

That year, I began designing clothes and, with the support of my parents, worked with a manufacturer to produce my first collection. On April 11, 2021, I officially founded Tavon Leone LLC and debuted the "Out of This World" collection. I manage every aspect of my business—designing the clothes, building the website, conducting photoshoots, running social media accounts, and creating all the content.
Creative Growth
In 2023, I released my second collection, "Focus” collection, which marked another milestone in my creative journey. Through photography, I have been able to bring my brand to life and tell its story visually. Owning a clothing brand has also deepened my appreciation for fashion, and over the past year, I have been experimenting with my personal style and exploring global trends.

Now, as a full-time college student majoring in Marketing and set to graduate in May 2025, I am working on my best collection yet. I am proud of the growth, challenges, and successes that have shaped me, and I’m excited to share what’s next with the world.
Life in Focus
The story behind the lens. Photography isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a cornerstone of my identity. Below, you’ll find a slideshow showcasing some of my favorite photographs, each representing a memory, a journey, or a moment that shaped me.

These images reflect my travels to 14 countries and 47 cities, capturing breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and unforgettable experiences. From the surreal deserts of Morocco to the serene temples of Japan, from the picturesque streets of Italy and Greece to the historic beauty of France, Türkiye, and Bosnia—every photograph tells a story.

I’ve taken these pictures using my Nikon D5600 and Sony ZV-1, refining my skills with every shot. Photography has been a way for me to document my adventures and preserve the beauty of the world as I see it. It has shaped my perspective, inspired my creativity, and continues to drive me to explore and create.

Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope my work inspires you to see the world through your own unique lens.
Japan
A spontaneous decision led my best friend and roommate, Jordan, and I to embark on an unforgettable adventure to Japan. It was my first time visiting this part of the world, and I had no idea what to expect. Looking back, I can confidently say it was the most incredible trip I’ve ever taken.

Our journey began in Tokyo, a city that felt like something out of a dream. From the illuminated skyscrapers to the tantalizing array of food, every moment was captivating. Tokyo’s walkability, pristine streets, efficient public transportation, and the respectful demeanor of its people left a lasting impression. The city’s vibrant culture was reflected in everything—from Tokyo drift cars to impeccably tailored suits and cutting-edge streetwear. While many rave about 7-Eleven, Jordan and I discovered that FamilyMart was the true gem for quick and delicious bites.
Tokyo was an exhilarating mix of tradition and modernity, and it exceeded every expectation.

From there, we traveled to Kyoto, a city with an entirely different atmosphere. Kyoto’s tranquil beauty stood in contrast to Tokyo’s bustling energy. The breathtaking Shinto shrines and temples, nestled amidst serene natural landscapes, were awe-inspiring. Whether it was enjoying mouthwatering chicken katsu or exploring unique shopping districts, Kyoto’s charm was undeniable.

Japan, with its rich history, innovative cities, and unparalleled hospitality, completely won me over. It’s a place that lives up to the hype and more. My camera captured everything from glowing cityscapes to peaceful temple grounds, each photo telling a story of a moment in time.
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Japan to anyone who loves to explore. It’s a destination unlike any other and one I’ll never forget.
Morocco
In the spring of 2024, while studying abroad in Florence, Italy, I traveled to Morocco with friends during our spring break. We arrived in Marrakech and spent our first day in the medina, exploring the bustling markets, vibrant souks, and tasting traditional Moroccan cuisine, including tagine. The lively atmosphere and rich culture were captivating, and I was eager to capture every moment through my lens.
Since I spoke some French and was familiar with Moroccan culture, I took the lead in organizing our itinerary. We stayed for five days, with three of them dedicated to a guided tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert. Our journey began with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, where winding roads revealed breathtaking views of rugged peaks and lush valleys.

We stopped at Aït Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village known for its earthen clay architecture and as a filming location for movies such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Gladiator. The historical significance and stunning landscapes made it a remarkable experience to photograph.Continuing our journey, we visited Tinghir, a city surrounded by palm groves and dramatic cliffs. The contrast between the oasis and the rocky terrain was striking, and we spent the night immersed in the local culture. We then explored Toudgha El Oulia, a picturesque basin surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and winding canyons carved by the Toudgha River. The dramatic landscapes provided incredible photographic opportunities, capturing the natural beauty and rugged terrain. Our journey continued to the Merzouga Desert, where we rode camels through golden sand dunes to our campsite. The sunset over the dunes created a breathtaking scene, illuminating the landscape with hues of orange and pink.

At the campsite, we were welcomed with traditional Moroccan tea and dinner under the stars. We connected with other travelers, enjoyed a cultural performance with Berber music and dancing, and spent the night in spacious desert tents. The clear desert sky offered an incredible view of the stars, creating a memorable atmosphere. Before dawn, we rode ATVs to the top of a sand dune to watch the sunrise. The panoramic view of the sun rising over the vast desert was unforgettable. After an exhilarating morning, we began our journey back to Marrakech.

We spent one last night in Marrakech, enjoying dinner at a rooftop bar overlooking the medina. The vibrant city lights and bustling streets provided a perfect end to our adventure. This journey through Morocco was an enriching cultural experience that deepened my appreciation for travel and storytelling through photography.

Our trip to Morocco was more than just a vacation—it was an exploration of culture, history, and natural beauty. From the ancient kasbahs to the vast desert landscapes, every moment was filled with discovery. The photographs I captured during this journey are some of my favorites, each one telling a story of adventure, friendship, and awe. This trip not only deepened my love for photography but also left me with memories that will last a lifetime.
Italy
In the spring of 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Italy, spending five months from January to May based in Florence. I quickly fell in love with the city—the rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture made every day feel like a new adventure. During my time there, I formed lasting friendships with people from my program and classes, making my experience even more unforgettable.

Beyond Florence, I traveled extensively, exploring some of Italy’s most beautiful cities. I visited Pisa, Verona, Rome, Bologna, Milan, Venice, Siena, and San Gimignano, as well as the charming Venetian islands of Murano and Burano and the town of Mestre. Each destination had its own unique character, from the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa to the romantic canals of Venice, the stunning duomo of Florence, and the historic wonders of Rome.

Immersing myself in Italian culture was one of the most rewarding aspects of my time abroad. I learned to speak a bit of Italian, gained an appreciation for traditional cuisine, and embraced the local way of life. I also experienced Italy’s dynamic nightlife, discovering hidden gems throughout Florence and beyond.

Throughout my travels, I captured countless moments through my camera, preserving the beauty of cities like Venice, Siena, Florence, Milan, and San Gimignano. My time in Italy was transformative, deepening my love for travel, culture, and photography, and leaving me with memories that will last a lifetime.
Greece
In April, during my study abroad in Florence, my friend Chris and I traveled to Greece for four days. We arrived separately in Athens but met at the port to catch a ferry to Mykonos. Once in Mykonos, we joined our friends and spent two days exploring the island’s beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. The narrow streets lined with white-washed buildings and colorful bougainvillea were stunning, and I was captivated by the island’s charm and energy.

After two days in Mykonos, we returned to Athens, where we spent the next two days immersing ourselves in the city’s rich history and lively atmosphere. We visited the Acropolis, standing in awe of the Parthenon and the breathtaking views of the city below. We also explored the neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Plaka, with their bustling markets, street performers, and authentic Greek tavernas.

I fell in love with Athens instantly. The culture and cuisine reminded me of Turkey, with their shared history under Ottoman rule for five centuries. But what truly stood out was the city’s vibrant spirit. Every bar, café, and restaurant was filled with people enjoying life, and the city seemed to never sleep. I remember seeing people ordering food at midnight, and the streets were always buzzing with activity.

We also visited Palaio Faliro Beach, where the crystal-clear water provided a refreshing escape from the heat. We joined a group of students on the sand, juggling a ball and enjoying the carefree atmosphere. Nearby, a basketball event was taking place, with people shooting three-pointers on the courts. We joined in the fun before cooling off with a swim in the sea.

Athens left a lasting impression on me with its rich history, lively culture, and welcoming people. It’s a city full of life and beauty, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking adventure and unforgettable experiences.
Bosnia
After my study abroad program ended, I traveled to Bosnia in May, staying with close family friends in Sarajevo. They were incredible hosts, showing me the beauty and culture of their country. During my stay, we visited Konjic and Mostar, two cities rich in history and charm.

In Mostar, I was captivated by the iconic Stari Most (Mostar Bridge) and the surrounding antique shops filled with unique treasures. I witnessed a professional diver leap off the bridge and plunge into the Neretva River below—a tradition that showcases incredible bravery and skill.

In Sarajevo, we explored both the modern part of the city and the historic area influenced by Ottoman rule. The blend of old and new created a vibrant atmosphere that truly showcased the city’s unique character. I also tasted traditional Bosnian cuisine, which was both flavorful and memorable.

My time in Bosnia was filled with unforgettable experiences and heartfelt hospitality, making it a journey I will always cherish.
